Never miss a Self Assessment, Making Tax Digital or end-of-tax-year deadline again. Add this free calendar to your phone or computer and the key UK dates for individuals, sole traders, landlords and families appear in your own calendar, with reminders a few days before the big ones. Subscribing keeps the dates up to date automatically. Downloading the .ics file imports a one-off copy that won't update. Some apps, including Google Calendar, may not use the reminders in a subscribed calendar, so set your own notifications for the calendar if you want them.

FAQ

How do I add the UK tax deadlines calendar to my phone?
On an iPhone or iPad, tap the Subscribe button on this page and confirm. On Android, use the Google Calendar button from a browser signed in to your Google account; the calendar then syncs to the Google Calendar app. You can also paste the feed address into any calendar app that supports subscribing by URL.

Will the calendar update itself?
Yes. It's a subscription, not a one-off import. The feed asks apps to check for changes once a day, and if a date changes on GOV.UK we update it. Each app decides how often it actually refreshes, and Google Calendar can take longer than a day.

When is the Self Assessment deadline for the 2025-26 tax year?
Paper returns must reach HMRC by 11:59pm on 31 October 2026. Online returns are due by 11:59pm on 31 January 2027, which is also the deadline to pay any tax you owe for 2025-26 and your first payment on account for 2026-27.

What are the Making Tax Digital for Income Tax quarterly deadlines?
Quarterly updates are due by 7 August, 7 November, 7 February and 7 May (the following tax year). The deadlines are the same for standard and calendar update periods. HMRC says it won't give penalty points for late quarterly updates in the 2026-27 tax year, but you must send them before you can submit your tax return.

What if a deadline falls on a weekend?
For Self Assessment payments, GOV.UK says that if the deadline falls on a weekend or bank holiday your payment must reach HMRC on the last working day before, unless you pay by Faster Payments or by debit or credit card. 31 January 2027 is a Sunday and 31 July 2027 is a Saturday.

Do I need an account, and do you see my calendar?
No. The calendar is a free, read-only file. Subscribing doesn't need an account with Tidy Sheets, and we can't see your calendar or anything in it.

Checked 17 October 2026. Times are UK time. If you register after 5 October, HMRC will give you a different deadline for your return (3 months from the date of its letter or email), but the tax is still due by 31 January; follow what HMRC tells you.
