Privacy policy: UK Mileage Log extension

The short version

• Your trips stay in your browser. Everything you enter is saved on your own device, in the browser's extension storage.
• We collect nothing. The extension has no account, no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no cookies.
• No network requests. The extension never sends your data to us or to anyone else, and it doesn't load any remote code.
• One permission: "storage", so it can save your trip log. It can't read or change the websites you visit.

What the extension stores, and where

When you add a trip, the extension saves the date, the from and to places, the purpose, the miles, whether it was a round trip and the vehicle type (car or van, or motorcycle). It uses this to work out your HMRC simplified mileage claim for each UK tax year.

This information is kept in your browser's local extension storage (storage.local) on the device you're using. It isn't synced to other devices, and Tidy Sheets can't see it. We don't operate any server that receives it.

Exporting, importing and deleting your data

• Export CSV creates a file on your own computer. Where you keep or share that file is up to you.
• Import CSV reads a file you choose, on your device, and adds the trips to your log. The file isn't uploaded anywhere.
• To delete a trip, use its Delete button. To delete everything, remove the extension from your browser. This erases its stored data. Export a CSV first if you want to keep a copy.

Links to our website

The extension's footer links to our free mileage allowance calculator, our mileage and expenses guide and this page. These links only open if you click them. They include utm_source=extension in the address so we can tell a visit came from the extension. Nothing from your trip log is ever added to a link.

Our website, tidysheets-uk.pages.dev, is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It has no ads and no tracking cookies, and the calculators run in your browser. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles basic technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages securely. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Sharing, selling and children

We don't sell, rent, share or transfer user data. We don't collect it in the first place. The extension isn't aimed at children.

Changes and contact

If a future version ever needs to handle data differently, we'll update this page and change the date at the top before releasing it. Where a browser store requires it, we'll also ask for your permission first.
